Skylight Cabin - I stayed in a Skylight Cabin with my husband for a week in September. We liked the cabin, it was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. ... read more The bed was a pull out sofa bed and not too comfy but then I don't think they ever are. We have a new one at home and that isn't comfy either. So we slept on the sofas which was ok. The site is very clean too. There was a rat that popped out of a bush by the decking each day to wind up my border terriers but I don't think that was due to any litter, it's just what happens in the countryside. The cabin was in the Rookery area. The birds were noisy but I loved them and once the door of the cabin was closed I couldn't hear them. The pub was ok, I was disappointed that the restaurant were operating on a limited menu with NO vegan meals but I asked the barmaid, who asked the kitchen staff and they made me a vegan meatball pizza which was good and had some chips and onion rings which were excellent. The little shop had a nice variety of items even including some really cheap reading glasses which came in handy as I lost mine walking back from Lulworth Cove. I asked in reception about the walk to and from Lulworth Cove and was told it was an easy walk. Well I am 62 and not too unfit and I found walking back difficult (so did my 10 year old dog - husband had to carry her halfway). I had asked if I would have to walk through any cow fields and was told no. I am really frightened of cows. There are cows in the field next to the path. Lots of big ones. With no fence to seperate them from the path. They were ok and didn't cause any problems but they were there! Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove were beautiful but not that easy to get to and had stony beaches. The nearby sandy beaches were not all dog friendly. We usually got to Woolacombe in Devon with a very easy walk to a big sandy dog friendly beach so will be going back to Devon next year and not Dorset.

Excellent location and facilities. - Stayed for two nights camping in the Rookery. Facilities are brilliant, toilets and showers are clean and in good condition. Shop is well stocked. Great location, only negative... read more was restaurant, we had both lunch and dinner there, but felt the food was over priced for what it was.
September 1, 2024Brilliant Holiday - We originally booked the skylight accommodation but even though it was very nice it was too small for our needs. Beautiful countryside the holiday park was a quiet scenic place to stay - First time we've stopped at this holiday park we hired a private owned static caravan.Situated in a beautiful part of the country the caravan was well placed with a scenic... read more view of the countryside along with cattle & wildlife the holiday park was a lovely quiet place to stay. The staff were friendly & helpful especially in the Man O'War Bar & Restaurant we tried both the takeaway service & having something to eat inside with no complaints as the food was excellent it was just a shame they didn't do breakfasts we would have been in there every morning before venturing out each day.It was nice to come across beer or in this case Guinness that was chilled unlike other places i've come across. The shop was very handy for those forgotten essentials.Great place for a base to explore the surrounding coastline & countryside.Would we stay again YES,we thought the overall experience was very good.Would have given it five stars if our private owned caravan hadn't had a few niggles & the restaurant had done breakfasts maybe some entertainment would have been nice too.We did enjoy our week in August 10th-17th it certainly was different from other places we have stopped at in the Weymouth area
August 22, 2024Lovely stay- will definitely return. (Confused by the negative reviews!) - I recently stayed at this campsite and was pleasantly surprised by the experience, especially having read some negative reviews beforehand. It's clear that this campsite isn't for those looking for... read more a noisy, party-like atmosphere with loud music and children running around pitches etc. Instead, it's a peaceful retreat perfect for anyone looking to unwind.
The location of the campsite is absolutely perfect, with walks to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove on the doorstep. The facilities were clean, well-maintained, and everything you could need for a comfortable stay.
The on-site restaurant was lovely and convenient, offering a variety of hot meals that were delicious. After a day of exploring, it was the perfect place to relax and refuel without having to venture far.
I also noticed that some reviews mention noisy birds on site. I didn't find them disruptive at all, and it definitely didn't stop me from sleeping in on the final morning. And anyway, when you're camping amongst nature, what do you expect?!
In summary, if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing camping experience in a beautiful location with great facilities, this is the place for you.
August 21, 2024Great holiday park - great location. - Had a lovely 2 night break at the holiday park.
Check in was straight forward. We stayed in a 3 bedroom holiday home.

Kitchen was... read more well equipped, shower was amazing.
Sight was very quiet and well maintained.
Our location had a sea view and only a 2 minute walk to car park for Durdle door.
We then followed the path straight down to the beach, wear good footwear it’s not easy but totally worth it
Top tip we went to the bay on the left on sunny day, much quieter than tourist focussed durdle door.
Great for swimming , plus Ice cream boat came twice in the day - fantastic.
Lulworth bay is only a mile walk to the left.
We drove around on leaving day - we got a discount parking from helpful reception staff, only £4.50 rather than £10 for 4hrsincludes castle car park as well for the day.
Had a meal in onsite pub- good portion sizes, pizzas great - gastro pub prices.
Overall perfect holiday park for walking, beautiful views in both directions and relaxing.
Would highly recommend.

LOVED IT!! Great site, Great staff !! - Really enjoyed our stay here. Greeted with a warm welcome was showed to our pitch which was nice and private as hedged 3 sides, easy access to water electric. Toilets... read more blocks lovely and clean. No problems with the rooks they didn’t bother us at all. Site lovely and peaceful, yes you do get a little bit of road noise from people visiting durdle door but it is probably the most visited land mark in Dorset but again it didn’t bother us as the campsite itself has a very relaxed feel. Shop well stocked with a nice selection of ready meals ect, great for the tents as a microwave is provided for them to use which is a nice touch. Pub nice to nip for a drink. Staff we found to be very pleasant, Stuart’s a very nice chap, very helpful when we wanted to add a few more days on. Wardens are always at it making sure everywhere is kept nice, which it is, lovely clean grounds. Overall loved it and we would certainly return. Thank you for a lovely stay 😊
June 27, 2024highly recommended would easily stay again - Just come back from a 3 night stay at Durdle Door Holiday Park, and I can honestly say it was the best holiday park I've stayed in, well done
We... read more stayed in one of the camping pods, it was clean and tidy no issues. The facilities were excellent and extremely clean, showers for me were slightly too hot but otherwise it was very good. There wasn't any breakfast served at the pub which was a shame, but maybe as we were out of school holidays, but the shop had everything
June 27, 2024Good location for Durdle Door - Very clean campsite. Pitches for camper and/motor homes are individual and have hedge boundaries. Electricity and water for each pitch.
Hardstanding and grass, however the hardstanding is central on... read more pitch which reduces awning space available.
Toilets and facilities spotlessly clean and showers a good temperature with continuous flow (not the annoying push button type!)
Good walking access to Durdle Door and Lulworth cove.
Lots of tress on site which brings the birds - mostly rooks. Brings some noise and bird poop, but nothing that is too much.
Pub (Man O War) and shop on site serve their purpose. Food at pub is ok for burger/pizza, nothing too special - all the staff were very friendly. Shop is well stocked with essentials.
Enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful surroundings, lovely site, tourist should respect - The actual site was clean and tidy and the views were absolutely amazing, will definitely go back and visit again. The only let down was that it seems that a... read more lot of the tourists don’t appreciate the beautiful area, as there was rubbish left all down the walkway to the beach, the car park and the public toilets were disgraceful. Don’t really understand why people do it, especially in such a lovely area. But will still go back as said, site clean, staff were polite and helpful, also went out of the way to help as we had issue with our new camper. Well worth the visit, just wish more people respected it, if it wasn’t for this would have left full 5 stars
May 23, 2024Durdle Door Holiday Park - After reading mixed reviews we were wondering what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. There was a bit of a mix up regarding my booking dates but this was sorted... read more out once I checked my emails and showed reception staff this was corrected and money refunded..
Our pitch, on the lower side of the Abbey-field touring pitches was level, although there was road noise from the road way to Durdle Door car park on the other side of the hedge that surrounded our pitch. This didn’t bother us too much and we enjoyed our stay. Pitches on the upper level didn’t look as level and would require levelling ramps.
The park toilets/ showers are adequate and no issues, and there is also a well stocked shop, bar and restaurant on the park.
The best thing about this holiday park is it’s location. It’s about 15 min walk to Durdle Door and about 20 mins to Lulworth Cove. Be aware that the coastal path to these attractions are rugged, uneven and steep in places with lots of steps There is a bus stop directly outside the site.
A special mention to the Park wardens Stuart and Nicola, they work so hard all day, and are so friendly and helpful They made our stay so good

Outside boot boxes do not keep thing's from getting wet.
Overall, the campsite is nice, great location. Had a lovely pizza from the restaurant which you can takeaway.
Spa shop on site is handy.
Toilets / showers are clean.

Great location to go down and visit durdle door , on the doorstep - beware very tough walk back up but worth it. Lovely little woodland to take dogs for walk in shade. Showers and washing facilities very good. Shop and pub/restaurant on site , very well stocked. A couple of little observations(not gripes) - 1st our pitch backed on to the road that leads up to the car park for durdle door and it was always busy all day and into the evening. 2nd the army were conducting target practice with both guns and tanks a few miles away and we could hear the shots and the tanks shook our campervan - don't get me wrong we didn't feel like we were in a war zone but a note on the website or at time of booking might have made us more prepared. Still a lovely stay as the firing was a few hours on Friday and a tiny bit on saturday morning.
September 11, 2023Wonderful but watch the size of your camper van !!! - Just returned from a 2 night stay, wonderful but one niggle - my camper is 5.3m, I explained this at the time of booking as there is a rule on... read more 5m max for sea view pitches, i was assured this was ok!!!!! On arrival we declared this again and was told it was a NO NObut as they had no other available camper spots we were aloud to stay. Don’t get me wrong it was great and the stars were amazing along with sun set and sunrise looking at the sea, i just fail to see why 5m is the max when high top campers stayed at the same time who were higher. The apparent reasoning is obscuring the view for the static caravans behind??? They should assess any campers that’s are between 5 & 5.5m to see how they will impact the view as i and other caper van owners were completely baffled. All this said, what an amazing few nights we had, The bar although short on staff were very accommodating and the food was good. That all said.i have booked again but not on sea view but would have loved to. Durdle Door campsite please review your policy, my van was no more obstructive than most on the pitches that weekend. My experience sat looking at the stars and watching the sun rise was my main reason for booking at your establishment and 300mm will stop me having it again!!!!!
