Team Spotlight: Customer Care

Why work at Durdle Door?

Customer service at Durdle Door

Our Customer Care team is a friendly, approachable and capable staff. Some of us are seasonal, some are part time, some are full time and some have worked at the Holiday Park for most of their career! While we all have our specialties and individual responsibilities, our day-to-day tasks are varied and exciting which means we never get bored!

Durdle Door and the surrounding Lulworth Estate sees 1 million visitors over the year, mostly condensed into the summer. And this number is only growing! As Holiday Park staff we must manage the expectations of our guests and ensure that everyone has the very best possible experience of Durdle Door Holiday Park. Whether they are first time visitors or come to stay year after year, we know that our guests have high expectations.

When you step into our Reception, you’ll often find a hive of activity…

A day in the life on Reception

Fantastic Customer Care at Durdle Door

Libby started working with us at the beginning of the summer season in 2019. And now we can’t imagine life without her!

Usually coming in before Reception opens, to prepare for the day ahead, Libby opens our doors at 9am sharp. The team says goodbye to our tourers and campers shortly after.

Park Facilities at Durdle Door

Libby works hard on a daily basis to prepare social media posts for the week, showcasing Durdle Door Holiday Park and any promotions we may have running, as well as creating engaging content and fun stories to give you a look ‘behind the scenes’.

She might highlight the brand new 2020 Holiday Homes to let, or the unique Horizon Heights Villa and its prime sea-view spot on Park. Our social media also collaborates with other departments on the Lulworth Estate, so you may see the specials menu at our on-site Man O’War Bar & Restaurant, or the Boat Shed down at Lulworth Cove. The Weld Arms pub has recently opened following extensive refurbishment, so of course we love to show it off! Libby also posts about any events we have running, and seasonal promotions for our guests.

We all try to fit in a lunch break somewhere between check-in times at 12pm and 4pm. Depending on the weather and pre-bookings, we could check-in up to 30 campers, 57 tourers, 7 camping pods, 4 Skylight cabins and 39 Holiday Homes all on one Friday afternoon! It can be a bit of a rush for us, but we try to make the process as streamlined and personal for all our guests.

Our on-site overnight security takes over from Reception staff around 6pm. The security team can do everything Reception staff can do, so guests can usually check-in until late evening.

Feedback for Durdle Door

Our customer care always rates very highly on our feedback forms and guest reviews. This is something we are all very proud of!

Here are just a few snippets from our Trip Advisor reviews in 2019:

“All staff on site very polite and friendly”

“The staff in the office were nice and very helpful”

“Front of house reception staff were great”

“My wife made a quick trip to the reception where the staff were very understanding and quickly rearranged things so we had a fantastic pitch close to the facilities. All this took no more than 20 mins and we were sorted. We really appreciated this and had a fantastic holiday due to this.”
